RUN BY DETROIT TECHNO and electro pioneer Sherard Ingram, aka DJ Stingray (seen here in a rare, masked interview), Micron Audio Detroit was formed in 2008 to follow on in shaping the electro landscape left by the passing of James Stinson, aka the cult producer behind Drexciya whose identity remained a mystery until his sad passing in 2002. Having been releasing records for over two decades under the critically acclaimed names Urban Tribe, Mystic Tribe A.I. and Drexciyan DJ Stingray, Drexiya’s touring battle DJ, Sherard’s career has seen him collaborate with celebrated talents such as Anthony Shakir, Kenny Dixon and Grammy Award Nominee Carl Craig. DJmag are teaming up with DJ Stingray to offer you the chance to remix him and win a release on Micron Audio Detroit, whose return from hibernation comes at a time when everyone from house to bass producers are rediscovering their love of the classic 808 sound.
