Birmingham Metropolitan College Prestigious award winners

Staff and students based at Birmingham Metropolitan College’s Castle Vale Skills Centre have been celebrating after they were named as award winners in recognition of their successful and popular cleaning science training courses.

The College won the Association of Colleges (AoC) Edexcel Award for Lifelong Learning for their innovative project in Castle Vale that focused on attracting workers to the cleaning industry who had little, or no formal training and little experience of education since their schooldays.

Birmingham Metropolitan College’s Vocational Science Team has recently relocated to their brand new facilities at the Castle Vale Skills Centre offering  science and facilities management. The vocational science JobCentre Plus project enabled individuals who have been unemployed for six months or more to undertake formal training in vocational science which resulted in many of them re-skilling and securing employment within this growing sector.
