New Institute of Entrepreneurial Leadership Programs

ohn F. Kennedy University is launching two new programs: a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) specialization in Entrepre- neurship, and a Certificate in Entre- preneurship, in conjunction with its new Institute of Entrepreneurial Leadership at the Pleasant Hill cam- pus, starting in spring 2011. The specialization in Entrepre- neurship is part of the MBA pro- gram at the university that incorpo- rates a curriculum of sustainability concepts alongside employee-cen- tric and work-life balance prin- ciples.


The Certificate of Entrepreneur-


ship is an 11-week intensive pro- gram to help develop real-world, practical skills needed to recognize an opportunity and turn it into a successful business venture. Taught by successful entrepreneurs, the classes will cover marketing, lead- ership, finance, strategy and best practices.


JFK University is a fully ac- credited private university, founded in 1964. As part of the National University System, it offers under- graduate-completion programs; graduate and doctorate degrees; and certificates in psychology, law, holistic studies, management, lib- eral arts and museum studies, with campuses in Pleasant Hill, Berkeley, Campbell and Costa Mesa.

1000 New Cyclists Hosts Free Choosing Your Bike Event

000 New Cyclists, a project of the Bicycle-Friendly Berkeley Coalition, will host a free class about how to shop for bikes, with a focus on buying used, from 7 to 8 p.m., February 10. Topics will include how


to determine suitable bike sizes; being aware of mechanical issues; and know- ing which basic accessories an everyday cyclist needs, why they are needed and how to use them.


The 1000 New Cyclists’ campaign goal is to encourage 1,000 new cyclists in the East Bay area to start riding their bikes for everyday transportation such as work, school, running errands and visiting friends.
