THE PROFESSIONAL YEAR


PROGRAM ADVANTAGE The Professional Year Program (PYP) is an Australian government initiative designed to assist international student graduates in the fields of accounting and computer science kick start their career in Australia through:


• Targeted communication and workplace skills training to develop the key professional abilities employers look for when recruiting student graduates


• A 18-week professional internship placement to develop practical workplace skills and increase employment opportunities.


On successful completion of a PYP participants may also be eligible to be awarded points under DIAC’s General Skilled Migration points test.


The University of Queensland’s Institute of Continuing & TESOL Education (ICTE-UQ) is an approved partner provider of the following PYPs:


• Australian Computer Society (ACS) Professional Year Program Computer Science (PYear Program)


• Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA), Australia, The Institute of Chartered Accountants and the National Institute of Accountants Skilled Migration Internship Program Accounting (SMIPA)
