Tips for preparing your graduate program applications In addition to the expertise from your qualifications, as an international student you bring great cross-cultural skills. It’s important to emphasise these to employers in ways that demonstrate the value you can add to their business. For example, indicate that you can give them an edge as you can:

• help them understand their marketplace/ clientele and tap into different networks with both your professional as well as cultural knowledge (e.g. contacts from your home country)

• represent a cultural and language match with their local or overseas clients with your bilingual and bicultural skills

• better understand the cultural nuances of the business culture in your home country.
