New attachments from Buckhurst

At the No-Dig Live 2010 exhibition staged last month, Lancashire-based Buckhurst Plant Hire Ltd revealed the prototype of its new Crush-Tec attachment. Demonstrated connected to the dipper arm of a 3 tonne class Takeuchi TB228 mini excavator, this attachment utilises two powerful hydraulic cylinders that allow its jaws to crush an old cast iron pipe. The attachment on show could shatter pipes with diameters of 9-20cm. Buckhurst, through its sister company Push-Tec Ltd, is also developing a smaller version of the implement for 1.5 to 3 tonne minis that will crush pipes of up to 10cm diameter. Buckhurst also recently introduced its

Push-Tec PE gas pipe insertion device. After successful field trials with the National Grid, the company can now supply the attachment in two sizes, one for inserting 63-180mm diameter pipes using 1.5 to 5 tonne minis, and the other for 200-400mm diameter pipes that fits 3 to 10 tonne machines.

Show drives KFS forward

KFS Special Vehicles Ltd reports that, as a result of the tremendous interest in its 3.5 tonne Plant & Go range this year, which all started when the vehicles were promoted at the Executive Hire Show in February, it has launched a website specifically for the products. The site allows visitors to download leaflets and to watch a

short video showing how flexible the concept can be within the hire market. Other options added since the Show include a full-width tailgate, an LED light bar and drop sides.
