A round up of this month's news
Help your pupils - set up a DSA profile
If you're an ADI, you can register your profile with DSA so pupils can access information about your schedule when they book their practical test. DSA will be able to advise your pupils when you're already booked for a test, or let them know if there's a particular day that you don't take pupils on test.
To sign up, call 0300 200 1122 (dial 25 to use fast track) and request a registration form.
New address for DSA corporate website
DSA's corporate website address - dsa.gov.uk - has changed to dft.gov.uk/dsa. If you try to visit the old address, you'll be automatically redirected to the new one.
The change is part of the programme to reduce the number of government websites. Most of DSA's information has already moved to Directgov and Business Link, and only corporate information - such as our business plan and press releases - are on the DSA site.
Chief driving examiner launches official Facebook page
The Driving Standards Agency's chief driving examiner, Trevor Wedge, has launched an official Facebook page. He'll be updating the page with details of what he's working on, and who he's talking to around the country.
To take a look at Trevor's page and to start following him on Facebook, go to facebook.com/trevorwedge.
Driver CPC and non UK licence holders
A process has been put in place for non UK licence holders to obtain their driver qualification card in the UK. They must complete at least seven hours of their training in the UK to qualify. Visit businesslink.gov.uk/cpc for more information.
Book direct, book Directgov
To avoid paying over the odds for a theory test or practical driving test, we recommend that all customers use the official booking service on Directgov. To book a theory test, go to direct.gov.uk/booktheorytest; for the practical test go to direct.gov.uk/bookpracticaltest.
