Nearly all of the hotels are award winning under the Travelife Sustainability in Tourism system. Those not already awarded are working hard towards achieving certification. The Travelife Sustainability in Tourism system encourages and rewards hotels that are taking action in improving their environmental impact, ensuring they treat their staff fairly and actively supporting their local community. Forget any misconceptions you have of hair shirts, 6am yoga and compost toilets, as a guest in many of these hotels you might be completely oblivious to the hive of green activity going on behind the scenes. In others, guests are encouraged to get involved, side by side with hotel teams to take part in community activities like tree planting.
