Ben Fogle inspires new range from CÀRN

Regatta team completes 4 peaks

British outdoor footwear specialist, CÀRN, has launched an exciting new collaboration with presenter, writer and adventurer Ben Fogle to produce a range of outdoor footwear. Designed with the outdoor enthusiast and urban consumer in mind, the Ben Fogle range from CÀRN will include both a Mid-Cut Boot and an Urban Trail Shoe. Constructed using some of CÀRN's proven technologies and the very latest in environmentally friendly materials, the styles will be in stock for the coming Spring/Summer 2011 season._

Commenting on the collaboration, Ben Fogle said: "I’m hugely excited to be launching this range in conjunction with CÀRN. Having travelled extensively across some highly demanding terrain I know only too well that the right footwear makes all the difference. I wanted to use this experience to create a range which was up to that task and I chose CÀRN because of their ethos and excellent credentials as a British footwear brand. It’s been a new challenge for me and working with CÀRN I’ve been given the freedom to design the shoes the way I wanted them to be. Together we have created a fantastic range of functional products which are fit for the hills but also stylish enough for urban life. I can't wait to start on the next range."_ _ Richard Dean, CÀRN’s Founder and Director said: “To be asked to develop a specific range of footwear with someone of Ben's prominence and passion for the outdoors is a fabulous opportunity and achievement for CÀRN.”_ Further details on the Ben Fogle range will be announced in due course, meanwhile CÀRN's existing range of styles can be viewed at www.carn- uk.com. If you would like to obtain further information on the existing range or how you can become a stockist please contact Paul James Mockett at CÀRN UK on; +44 (0) 1293 825733 or pj@unified-uk.com

Yaktrax – time to

stock up! With thoughts turning to cold weather, if this winter is anything like the last the country could be covered in snow and ice again. Plenty of people ended up in hospital due to falls on frozen pavements and paths. Last winter Granger’s had just agreed distribution of Yaktrax products and found themselves urgently bringing container-loads into the country, selling out as fast as they arrived.

“Yaktrax is by far the market leader in North America and it’s easy to see why,” says Hamish Ogilvie from Granger’s, the UK distributor. “They couldn’t be easier to use and can be carried in your car, briefcase etc. Coming off the back of last winter we have seen incredible demand from retailers for this product – it’s the perfect time to get ready for this winter opportunity.”

Yaktrax products are made out of an injection-moulded thermal plastic elastomer. The coils are protected against rusting and hand-wound to give 360 degrees of traction - every step you take places hundreds of biting edges in direct contact with the ice beneath your feet. Two versions are available – the original Yaktrax Walker (rrp £15.99) and the Yaktrax Pro (rrp £19.99) which includes an extra safety strap for those who do a lot of walking or running on ice and packed snow in the winter. Yaktrax Walker is available in Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large plus Extra Small for children. Yaktrax Pro is available in Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large.
