GoLite’s excellent sleeping bags – what makes them special, and who should you be selling them to?
Outdoor Content
saw some really, really excellent gear at OTS, and came away even more impressed with the show than before. You can read the review and round-up on page 18, so I won’t go on too much about it here. Great venue, good organisation, interesting awards, even the food’s pretty good. What’s not to like?
Back to reality though, and the weather’s been pretty crap. I’m
sure you’re the same as me, when it rains it’s no bad thing, it’s another opportunity to try out a waterproof jacket or some great boots. I’ve been walking in Càrn’s Stratosphere boots recently, and I am rather impressed. Extremely comfortable, even when walking on concrete or Tarmac. Many boots aren’t built for the walk you often have to take to get to the woodland, hill or off-road path, and they can even be a little dangerous at times. More than once I’ve gone arse-backwards having stepped on to a metal panel in the pavement while wearing walking boots. I guess there’s a perception that if they’re built to endure horrific weather and mud, rain et al, surely they can deal with a British pavement? On the whole, yes, but certainly not always.
I’m burbling. Enjoy the issue. We have some big changes coming – in a good way! – in the next couple of issues, and I think you’ll like them. But for now…
