More booth visitors Goss International, now a wholly-
owned subsidiary of Shanghai Electric, anticipates that a wider range of printers and publishers will visit its GRAPH EXPO booth this year as a result of integration within the Shanghai Electric group of companies, an ongoing coop- eration with Ferag and the introduction of its new M-600 Folia, Sunday Vpak and Universal press models. Goss Inter- national now represents Akiyama prod- ucts in North America, and the Akiyama MEGA JPrint sheetfed press and M-600 Folia web-to-sheet press present unique alternatives for perfecting applications. The first 30,000-sheets-per-hour Folia press is in operation in Germany. Goss Purlux saddlestitchers have been added to the lineup of integrated Goss and Ferag print finishing solutions and are featured at GRAPH EXPO as

new, mid-range saddlestitching options for sheetfed and web printers. The vari- able repeat Goss Sunday Vpak presses are designed to extend web offset print quality, productivity and efficiency for flexible packaging, folding carton and label applications. Key technol- ogy components of the press are at the booth, alongside an augmented reality presentation to highlight its operation and capabilities. New Goss Universal press models are
now available for newspaper and semi- commercial applications to address an emerging requirement for double-width productivity, simplified operation and a lower investment cost.
The Goss Lifetime Support pro-
gram extends the competitive lifespan of Goss press and finishing systems through a coordinated range of parts, service, enhancement and training ini- tiatives. Creative additions to the pro- gram include Goss ServiceFSA flex- ible service agreements that allow cus- tomers to purchase blocks of hours at discounted rates. The hours can then be used for maintenance, service and training. Goss is also offering special parts promotions during the show to emphasize the capabilities and price competitiveness of its large-scale OEM parts operation in the U.S.
vative technology that powers everything from the Fujifilm Inkjet Digi- tal J Press 720, to our CTP solutions,” says Sam Ota, division presi- dent. “Fujifilm sees this as a time of great poten- tial that printers can take advantage of to reinvent themselves, and we want them to know they don’t have to do it alone.” The show marks the U.S. launch of the Digital Inkjet J Press 720. Engi- neered to fuse offset printing quality with digital print’s flexibility, it fea- tures paper delivery and exit like that of a traditional offset press and print speeds up to 2,700 26x20" 4-up size sheets per hour or 10,800 8.5x11" pag- es per hour. Fujifilm Workflow XMF is driving the J Press 720.
Other digital solutions at the Fujif- ilm booth include the Xerox 700 and the Xerox Color 800/1000, both capa- ble of printing at 2400x2400 dpi. The Xerox 700 prints 70 ppm in color and black-and-white and the Acuity Advance HS UV flatbed printer with roll media option.
Also on display are the ESKO Kongs-
berg i-cut XL24, which offers knife cutting, creasing and routing on a vari- ety of media types; two roll-fed print solutions, the The Epson Stylus Pro 7900, a 24" roll printer driven by ORIS Color Tuner Pro Web technology and the Mutoh ValueJet 1618 64", an eco- solvent solution, dual-headed, 8-chan- nel printer; and the latest Pantone ink dispensing system with the GFI Innova- tions’ Mx6 ink dispenser. Fujifilm is showcasing its expansive line-up of wide format UV and solvent roll media, which provides printers with optimal print quality and color performance while providing durability and ease of use for virtually any appli- cation. A variety of media is on display including banner selections, premium papers, adhesive backed vinyl, backlit media, canvas, wall and floor graphic media and perforated window film. All of the media is designed for use on UV and solvent solutions and is the prefect complement to Fujifilm’s printer, ink and color management RIP solutions.
CTP solutions The Javelin 8600N-S thermal CTP
device with single cassette autoloader is also on the show floor. The Javelin 8600N-S outputs of up to 22 plates per hour at 2,400 dpi, features a full range of automation options, and supports Fujif- ilm’s full line of Brillia HD digital plates. The HD digital plates accommo- date long-, medium- and short-run
applications and give printers faster makereadies and superior image qual- ity. Fujifilm is showcasing its line-up of LH-PJ and LH-PL no-bake thermal plates; LH-NI3 and LH-PSE baked thermal plates; Ecomaxx-T, Ecomaxx- V and Ecomaxx-VN (newspaper) pro- cessless plates; and LP-NV2 and LP- NNV (newspaper) violet plates.
Software solutions Fujifilm is demonstrating a series of
software solutions, including the 2009 InterTech Technology Award recipient, Fujifilm’s Taskero Universe, Color- Path Verified, and Taksero’s newest module, ColorPath Sync. Taskero Uni- verse ColorPath Verified monitors the performance of all color equipment in the workflow. ColorPath Sync has the ability to optimize color in the G7 process and enables the creation of G7 curves for platemaking and printing to G7 conditions. ColorPath Verified and ColorPath Sync are monitoring and controlling color output live, not only in the in the Fujifilm booth but in other booths throughout the show floor. Also on display is the ColorGATE
PRODUCTIONSERVER6 Software, which is compatible with Fujifilm’s complete portfolio of wide-format printers. With ColorGATE, printers can use one RIP and one color man- agement system across all of the devic- es in their shop to achieve predictable results and consistent color.
CGS technologies at the booth are ORIS Color Tuner // Web, combining color management, high-speed output and proofing-specific media for inkjet printers; ORIS Press Matcher // Web, allowing different systems to be col- ormetrically aligned to one standard; and ORIS Ink Saver, which signifi- cantly reduces the CMY components for all printed elements and optimizes the black separation while maintaining visual and colorimetric integrity. Fujifilm PDF Workflow XMF, Metrix imposition planning and work- flow integration software, Design- Merge Pro Bundle variable-data soft- ware, and Rampage Systems prepress workflow automation for offset and digital devices are also being shown at Fujifilm’s booth.
