Discovery works equally well on sheetfed offset, flexo, digital, toner and inkjet presses, and on difficult substrates such as films, foils and flex- ible packaging. It includes complete reporting, including archived images of the printed material, if desired.
Eco-Friendly Paper

Digital Inkjet Press

FUJIFILM (Booth 627) is demon- strating its Digital Inkjet J Press 720. It prints on coated offset stocks, using water-based, eco-friendly ink. It prints up to 2,700 28.3x20.5" 4-up size sheets per hour, or 10,800 8.5x11" pages per hour. It features a true 1200x1200-dpi print resolution and four-level gray scale capability. Print quality is achieved by using Fujifilm Dimatix’s SAMBA single pass piezo DOD inkjet head technology. It also has an infrared drying system, so sheets are immediately ready to finish.
GPA Specialty Substrate Solutions (Booth 129) is showcasing 100% PCW Recycled Uncoated Pressure Sensitive Paper for HP Indigo presses. The 50-lb. recycled facestock is made with 100% post-consumer waste fibers, is FSC and Green Seal certified, acid free, lignin free, and process chlorine free (PCF). It features a permanent adhesive and an 80-lb. kraft liner that has 10% PCW and is also FSC certified. It is compatible with a variety of finishing processes, including die cutting, perfing, scoring, UV coating, laminating, and foil stamp- ing. It is available in 12x18" sheets.

B&W Press (Booth 4719) is debuting its 10-page Mini “Slim” Catalog mailer for B2B and B2C catalog print sales. The Mini Slim Catalog mailer is an in- line, print, and manufactured catalog, mailed for the cost of a standard letter. It features USPS approved fugitive glue seal—no wafer seals and no tabbing.
Half-size Press
its TA-25 multi-side tabber. It takes the place of two units, providing the ability to conform with the new USPS tabbing regulations. It can apply tabs to the top and side of a booklet or self-mailer simultaneously. It can also apply tabs to opposite sides of a mailer in one pass. It offers production single tabbing speeds of 25,000 pieces per hour and booklet tabbing (2+1, side-to-side) at 15,000 pieces per hour on media up to ¼" thick. It has the ability to single, double, and triple tab. It can run clear, translucent, or paper tabs on rolls up to a 9" in diameter. The TA-25 can be configured to apply up to 3 USPS roll stamps at a time.
Special Effect Printing
GammTech (Booth 964) is launching the GammStack compensating stacker. It uses the company’s two-grid index- ing system for moving the grids within the stacker’s chambers. The downward motion of the grids is servo driven, while the upward motion is controlled by pneu- matics. The machine delivers precisely aligned bundles for a wide variety of basis weights at high press speeds. On/off buttons and clear out functions

Color-Logic (Booth 155) is introduc- ing the Color-Logic Process Metallic Color system for inkjet, flexographic, digital, or offset presses. The system uses metallic ink or substrates with traditional CYMK inks to create 250 metallic colors and a variety of special effects. Printers print their own color guides and then ad agencies use these guides and the Color-Logic software to create files for printing. With the system, both ad agencies and printers can be assured that their jobs will look as expected. Printers are licensed by Color-Logic and authorized to print metallics only after demonstrating their capability with the process. At the booth, samples from inkjet, flexographic, offset, and digital presses are being shown.
Tabletop Tabber Punching System Spiel Associates, Inc. (Booth 3044)
is showcasing the Sterling Punchmas- ter 20. It punches sheets from 4x5" to 20x20" anywhere on the sheet. Users can punch for comb, spiral, and double loop wire as well as tabs, door hangers and windows. An air feeder is available, which allows for signature and heavy board punching. It also allows microm- eter die adjustments, for easy sheet cen- tering. The conveyor allows an operator to run the Punchmaster at speeds up to 125,000 sheets per hour.
PDF Conversion
Recosoft Corporation (Booth 652) is introducing PDF2ID v3.0, an upgrade of the PDF-to-InDesign conversion tool. It converts PDF files to native InDesign documents and incorporates over 150+ new features and has been designed to operate with Adobe InDesign CS3-CS5. It supports transparencies, clipping paths, text on a path, transformed text, and geometric transformations. Image resolutions can be maintained or low- ered. Images can be saved as separate image files or embedded in the InDesign document. It has been engineered to pro- vide integration with Adobe InDesign.
