C901 and C901s is a server-based EFI Fiery Print controller. The Fiery plat- form provides top speed, quality, and advanced color management and inte- grated workflow utilities. The Ricoh Pro C901s adds integrated full-color scan- ning, copying, and document storage to meet image capture and print-on- demand requirements. Both the systems use oil-free imaging technologies.
Automatic Binder
James Burn International (Booth 2555) is introducing the BB400 Speed- bind, a high-speed in-line fully auto- matic binding machine. With an output ranging from 1,500 to 3,000 documents per hour, allows binding of a wide vari- ety of applications from ¼" to ¾". It can close 3:1 and 2:1 pitch wire from ¼" to 1". It can take all documents with flush cut and oversize covers as well as tabbed sheets. The BB400 can do skip binding. It can take traditional spools and also JBI’s Wire-O FLEX boxes.
Creaser/Folder Combo
Morgana Systems (Booth 1653) is launching a combined creaser/folder. The DigiFold Pro offers combined creasing and folding in a single pass, or alternatively, acting as a standalone creaser or as a perforator when neither creasing nor folding is required. It uses a creasing technology called DynaCrease. Morgana’s PosiFeed feeding system handles lighter papers and difficult stocks while also allowing the feeder to be piled higher. The DigiFold can crease and fold at speeds up to 6,000 sph. It is also JDF-ready. It takes large sheet sizes and handles stock up to approximately 150- lb. cover, including laminated material.

Gateway Bookbinding Systems Ltd. (Booth 1171) is unveiling its Koilmatic Auto Inserter, an electric tabletop auto- matic coil inserter. It offers easy setup and changeover from job to job. Books are placed vertically into the machine allowing tabs or wider covers to be accommodated. Foot pedal actuated, the operator is able to position and remove bound books with production speeds up to 450 books per hour.
Monitoring Software
Standard Finishing Systems (Booths 1244, 1644) is premiering the Standard Horizon AFC-746F large-format folder, with throughput speeds up to 787 feet/ minute. It features a fully automated set- up with up to 45 automated adjustments including in-feed, roller gap, buckle fold, and knife-fold sections. It is flexible—with 6 buckle plates + 1st knife + 2 buckles under the knife, one buckle standard + 2nd knife. It handles sheet sizes up to 29.1x43.3" and as small as 8.3x8.3" with programmable memory for up to 200 different jobs. It includes a pile feeder with suction head, and has an optional pallet or continuous feeder. Sheet sizes up to 51 inches long can be fed with the continuous feeder.
