Plopsa Indoor Coevorden Vuurtoren
HURACAN BELANTIS
Located in Leipzig, Germany, Belantis added a long overdue second rollercoaster this summer. Like the existing Drachenritt (Dragon Ride), Huracan was supplied by Gerstlauer and is one the manufacturer’s hit EuroFighter rides. A signature vertical lift and beyond- vertical first drop are followed by a total of five inversions including a zero G roll, cobra roll and two interlocking corkscrews. The
Holland’s first Plopsa-branded theme park opened back in April in the city of Coevorden, close to the German border. This is the fourth park from Studio 100 (the other three are in Belgium) featuring characters from its hit TV shows, adopting a very similar format to Plopsa Indoor Hasslelt. Key attractions in Coevorden include
Piratenbaan (Zierer Force Two family coaster), Vuurtoren (Zierer family tower), Woeste Zee (Zierer Kontiki boat), Slingermolen (Zamperla Wave Swinger), Vliegende Fietsen (Zamperla Magic Bikes), Kikkers (Zamperla Frog Hopper), Botsautos (bumper cars), Bootjes (bumper boats), Scheve Schuit (play boat), Speelboom (play tree), Piratenspeeltuin (climbing attraction), Klimberg (climbing mountain) and the Glijbaan slide. Theming was by Piet de Koninck. A further 5,000 square- metre outdoor area will be developed at a later date.
Studio 100 has confirmed that its plans to expand into Germany with two parks dedicated to the character Maya the Bee.

ZARAGOZA New this summer at Parque de Atracciones de Zaragoza in Spain was a Vertical Swing from Zamperla. The 20-metre-tall ride – half Zamperla’s normal height for this kind of ride – nevertheless provides a thrilling sensation by combining the classic action of a Wave Swinger with the added thrill of a tower ride. At the time of writing, the Spanish park was preparing for its 17th annual Oktoberfest!

TUFF-TUFF TÅGET GRÖNA LUND
There were no big additions this season at Gröna Lund, that will happen next year with the arrival of a wooden coaster (Twister) and new look dark ride, but young visitor to this Stockholm park did get a brand new family coaster to enjoy. Tuff-Tuff Tåget (Choo-Choo Train) is one of two Mini Mouse coasters from Zamperla delivered in 2010, the other to Schwarzwaldpark in Germany. At Gröna Lund, the 24-seater ride has been constructed next to the park’s carousel, just inside the main entrance.
