Sibelius Groovy Music is a series of three programs which make teaching music to primary children easy and fun.
In Groovy City, children learn more about notation, and complete more complex listening tasks. They are also introduced to question and answer phrases and the blues scale, so that they can begin to build up more sophisticated compositions.

GroovyMusic.com is a 100% free, completely safe website that enables children to post their Groovy Music compositions online and get praise and feedback. Anyone with a web browser can view and hear Groovy Music songs that children have decided to share. Children can also find compositions by other young people to get ideas, do remixes and even get into the official Groovy Charts!

GroovyMusic.com cleverly enables children to give feedback and ratings for other young people’s songs without the risks associated with online chatting. Children provide feedback by selecting pre‐ written comments such as ‘I love the bassline’. No details of children are displayed, and the whole site is built using the very latest child‐protection best‐practices.
MUSICBOX 2
Award‐winning MusicBox 2 was designed to let children explore and make music on a classroom computer without knowing anything about notation. Encouraging pupils to explore sounds, chords, percussion and composition by ‘painting’ on the screen. Compositions can be speeded up, slowed down, edited, recorded, printed, saved ‐ even played backwards! Over 200 ‘different instruments’, plus ‘fun’ sounds like pigs, whistles and spoken phrases.
There are four activities, each of which prepares pupils for traditional music notation:
Sound Box ‐ sounds are arranged vertically by pitch, horizontally by instrument ‐ just point and click to play a tune: 7 instruments at a time (fewer if preferred) Chord Box ‐ explore 2‐ to 7‐note chords, then create sing‐or play‐along accompaniments on the clear new Sequencer. Beat Box ‐ create rhythms by dropping instrument into a time line Tune Box ‐ Drop notes onto a grid to explore the link between tunes and pattern
