TIMBER TRADE FINALLY GETS TO SHOW ITS STUFF

The timber industry has finally been deemed worthy of a trade show, and TRADA Technology are the forward thinkers behind the decision.

Timber Expo will be a two day show starting officially next year from 27th to 28th September at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, UK.

However, to launch the show, TRADA Technology - the Timber Research and Development Association - are inviting potential exhibitors to a special launch event this month, on 29th September, again at the Ricoh Arena.

Picked on this date as a year before the big show is unleashed, this launch is intended to “give potential exhibitors the opportunity to

tour the facilities and exhibition halls, to discuss content, feed in ideas and talk to the organisers about how to get the best out of the show.”

According to the official website, which was launched officially last month:

“The show is the one the timber industry has been waiting for and is designed to bring the industry together for the first time under one roof.

“Covering everything from timber frame, engineered wood and SIPs, to flooring, decking, wood protection and certification, visitors and exhibitors will be at the UK’s only dedicated event for the timber industry.

“Timber Expo is designed by the timber industry and delivered by the timber industry. It will give everyone involved an opportunity to see and hear about the strengths of timber and understand how it can deliver a stronger, more attractive and sustainable built environment.”

TRADA Membership & Marketing Manager Rupert Scott commented on the launch initiative:

“Timber Expo will permit companies to make a clear and informed judgement on their participation in the event. By attending the launch at the venue, potential exhibitors will have the opportunity to tour the facilities and exhibition halls, to express opinions and

engage in content discussions, while we will be able to brief them on how to get the best out of the show.”

He added: “‘It will be no more than three hours long, finishing with lunch. As well as bringing the organisers and exhibitors together, it will provide an opportunity for timber industry networking. We also intend to unveil the ‘figurehead’ for the show on the day along with a number of key themes, features and conference content.”
