WHAT’S NEW Productivity is all white
Agfa's new flatbed/roll-to-roll :Anapurna M 2050 combines the productivity of the two existing machines in this family with a new 2.05m width. This UV-curable printer also benefits from white ink printing and the company's latest M-series G2 inks, which are designed for applications on rigid and roll materials that demand more flexibility.
The new machine's versatility is enhanced with flexible media handling and a four-zone vacuum table which give additional strength for handling a range of substrates varying in size and thickness. Productivity is achieved with eight print-heads giving a total of 8,192 nozzles, plus the ability to output in both uni- and
bi-directional modes. These features make it ideal for all types of applications up to a maximum size of three by two metres and 4.5cm thickness on rigid media. The :Anapurna M 2050
combines with the company's new M-series G2 UV-curable inks for use on a range of rigid substrates and flexible roll materials. Finished output can be cut and creased without flaking or cracking, thus extending the options available to display producers and designers. Typical throughput speeds in four-pass bi-directional mode are around 24m2/h, optimised for poster and banner production.

When speed is of the essence
The new flatbed Gemini X10/1080UV from Grapo Technologies is capable of printing on rigid substrates as well as roll- to-roll and boasts higher speeds, improved quality and a number of new innovations.
Software eliminates incoming errors
The system has a printing area of two by three metres for rigid sheets, as well as the ability to handle rolls up to 165cm. With speeds of up to 90m2/h, the new Gemini X10/1080UV also offers double the speed of previous generation Manta printers when printing with white ink at 15 to 30m2/h. The printer is also said to offer high quality printing of skin tones and better
quality flat colours.
CEO Of Grapo Technologies, Radim Králik, said: “With greater speed and productivity, as well as the wide range of printed products, the Gemini X10/1080UV enables sign and display printers to produce more jobs at higher margins. Much of this new capability is enabled by the 10 XAAR 1001 printing heads with unique Through-Flow system and variable drop sizes for grayscale printing, as compared to eight printing heads and a fixed drop size in the previous generation.”

Targeted specifically at users of large format digital printers and/or digital finishing systems, EskoArtwork's expanded i-cut suite of pre-production software is designed to deliver optimal efficiency and productivity, regardless of the type, source and variety of the incoming job information.
EskoArtwork product manager sign and display, Ruben Cagnie, explained: “Shops often receive files that have not been properly prepared, containing errors or missing information. Without the proper workflow tools, such deficiencies lead to costly loss of time and materials. Using the i-cut software modules, potential issues are caught and resolved at the

beginning, resulting in a smooth and cost-effective manufacturing process.”
Tools include the i-cut Preflight, which handles incoming PDF data, ensuring that jobs will RIP and print correctly. Next up, i-cut Layout is the module for interactively building and editing sheet layouts, saving printing time and increasing substrate utilisation according to different strategies such as minimum waste or maximum productivity. In all cases, there is full integration with the i-cut Vision Pro control system for accurate die-less cutting.
