DIGITAL substrates

Anything is possible

Whatever you're printing, the common denominator is substrate and with thousands of different options, deciding can be difficult. Take a look at some of the latest substrates to hit the market

The great outdoors

It would be nice to think that when planning an outdoor event you could rely on good weather – but this is the UK so we have to make contingency plans for rain, hail and of course sun. With all this to take into account, what is the best substrate to use to make the event stand out?

Positioning itself favourably to meet this

demand, trade-only graphic systems supplier, Eurostand Display, has just added two new outdoor products to its existing range of display solutions.

The new robust Landmark outdoor graphic display looks like it could be the answer to our prayers because it is designed to withstand pretty much anything that the UK weather system can throw at it. Weighing in at less than 17kg, this lightweight system measures less than a metre long when packed making it easy to move around – in fact it’s portability thanks to its wheeled base, ergonomic carry handle and padded carry bag is a huge selling point. It is also designed to withstand wind buffeting and is fitted with a pair of flexible, spring-mounted telescopic poles that support the banners. For further stability, it is possible to fill the moulded base with water. The Landmark system houses twin 800mm-wide graphics, each 870, 1,440 or 2,015mm in height, depending on the model, making it ideal for reinforcing an event’s messages or branding, or for guiding pedestrians, vehicles, spectators or visitors towards a destination.

The second new entry to the range is the Bowhead outdoor graphic display, which is available in three heights: 2.85, 3.45 and 4.45m. Each model incorporates a three-piece hi-tensile aluminium pole which is treated with a special powder coating that gives the system a 12 year external use lifespan. Having wrestled with outdoor display systems in the past, the part I really like about this, is that it can be assembled and working in seconds and it can be anchored using a heavy duty, weather-proof ground spike which is supplied as standard. Other bases are also available and include a square base plate, car wheel plate and scissor stand to enable the product to be used in a variety of applications.
