next “OUT at the Globe” event Aug. 12 at 6:30 p.m., prior to the 8 p.m. production of “Robin and the 7 Hoods.” The pre-show re- ception gives LGBT theatre lov- ers a chance to mingle outdoors and get acquainted prior to the show. The event will feature a wine and martini bar, as well as Chicago-style appetizers from Woffy’s Place, including deep dish pizza, vegetable pasta, Ital- ian beef sandwiches and dessert.

over 17,000 meals to San Diego County resident’s affected by HIV/AIDS,” he said.

a Roaring ’20s theme, including classic cars, cabanas, live jazz, vintage champagne and gour- met cuisine. Individual tickets are $250 and tables seat 10. VIP cabanas can be sponsored at $5,000-$10,000 each and will offer semi-private seating, per- sonal attendants, bottle service and, in some cases, a personal celebrity chef. All proceeds go to Mama’s Kitchen. For more information about

“Out on the Mountain” Returns to Six Flags On Friday, Sept. 24, Six Flags
Magic Mountain is closing its doors to the general public for its annual LGBT night, “Out on the Mountain” from 6 p.m. till 1 a.m. Created by DJ Ray Rhodes in
2008, the party attracted nearly 5,000 people last year, and 7,000 are expected to attend this year. West Hollywood Drag Diva Ingenue will co-host this year’s event with DJ Rhodes. All Magic Mountain rides are scheduled to be open. Tickets are $45 at the gate but
are available in advance for $35 at
outonthemountain.com. Each ticket includes free parking. VIP tickets are $150 and include a flash pass, VIP lounge access with hosted vodka bar, $40 in “Bugs Bunny bucks” and premium parking. Alpha Project Charity Golf Classic, Oct. 1 Golfing enthusiasts are invited
to compete at the Alpha Project’s first Charity Golf Classic on Fri- day, Oct. 1. The tournament will take place at the Rancho Bernar- do Inn Golf Resort and Spa. The recently renovated 18-hole golf course has hosted both PGA and LPGA events and provides golfers of all skill levels with challenging yet rewarding play. Registration starts at 11:30
a.m. Shotgun tournament play begins at 1 p.m. and a dinner and auction begin at 6 p.m. The dinner and auction will raise funds for the Alpha Project, which provides services to homeless individuals throughout San Diego. ‘Jazz in North Park’ concerts added at the Birch Lyric Opera’s “Jazz in North
Park” series is adding more concerts through November. The second half of the series begins on Wednesday, Aug. 4 with Bill Cunliffe and his Imaginacion septet and San Diego’s own Coral MacFarland-Thuet on vocals. Grammy Award-winning
Bill Cunliffe is known for his adventurous piano playing and his capacity to work in a wide array of musical styles. Mac- Farland-Thuet sings in Spanish, English and Portuguese with a repertoire of music from Latin America. The duo will perform an evening of Afro-Cuban jazz.
