Who comprises your dream foursome? Without question my favorite movie of all time is Caddyshack. We shot down in Florida for Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and I went to the golf course (where Caddyshack was filmed) so I would have to say Ty Webb, Al Czervik and Judge Smails. ••• Would Spaulding come along to caddy? Spaulding not so much, but Carl (drop- ping into a perfect impersonation of Bill Murray’s Carl Spackler). . .A lot of people don’t know about this manganese . . .chinch bugs. . .I’m going to become head greenskeeper in two-three years. . . cannonball! . . This is a hybrid. This is a cross, ah, of Featherbed Bent, and North- ern California Sensemilia, it’s harsh. I can watch Caddyshack without

the sound, my buddies and I would sit there and watch it and be different people and I always had to be Carl. Bushwood Country Club with explosions is my favorite course. I have the pin from Bushwood, I have all kinds of stuff. By the way, when the gopher dances and does his thing and makes his noise, it’s actually the noise of a squirrel.

What’s your snack at the turn? Some- thing of lighter fare and made correctly. I think that inadequate food on the course is unacceptable. If it’s a turkey sandwich make it a great turkey sandwich. No. . . “Oh we’re at the ninth and I think we have a hot dog here maybe.” It has to be good. If you’re going to eat, eat good stuff, food that you really enjoy. If it’s going to be a cheeseburger, than a good cheeseburger. But no pre-warmed, we make it back at the big hut then we bring it here and it’s been here since noon and now it’s 4:00. And the beverage has got to be ice cold, not cold, iced cold, that’s key. •••

How important is it to eat healthy for golf? I think physically, if you’re walking the course, like my pristine shell of a self does carrying the other guys’ bags too. It’s incredibly important. Golf is a mental game and you need all the balances you can have and getting the proper nourishment is key along with hydration. People will think they’re not thirsty, but it doesn’t mean they don’t need to be hydrated.

What is the status of making “Cook with Your Kids Day,” your effort to get parents to include their children in the kitchen to educate them about eating healthy, a national holiday? It was supposed to be May 8, that was its anniversary but due to the level of event we’re going to put on we will have it in September. It will be really big. It will be happening in Sacramento most likely and we’re trying to grab some attention from the White House. We’d like to see “Cook with Your Kids Day” get some national recognition. •••

How many hours do you sleep a night? How many days a year are you on the road? Not enough and too many. How’s that? I sleep about six hours, could fluctuate and last year I did 180-200 days on the road. Way too many, ridicu- lously too many. •••

What’s one word to describe yourself? Supercalifragalistic •••

Not expialidocious? No, I’m not there yet.
