Kawasaki targets professionals


Kawasaki will promote the latest developments in its Engine & Power Products line-up at Saltex for grounds care professionals. These will include hedge trimmers featuring five-position twist handles or fixed handles, as well as loop handled and double-handled brushcutters incorporating a specially developed grip system for comfort and control.


Allett previews battery powered mower


A battery powered pedestrian fine turf mower will be launched by Allett at Saltex. The Elmow will be offered in 510mm and 610mm cutting widths to suit the


requirements of bowls and golf clubs, turf maintenance contractors and those looking after ornamental lawns. The manufacturer says the machine can achieve up to four hours’ mowing from a fully charged battery pack, depending on grass length, cutting height and working gradients. manufacturer’s hedge cutter line-up includes length options up to 2m, with variable position 135° articulated blades and collapsible trimmer heads for easy storage.To clear up the debris and leaves, a lightweight hand-held leaf blower with added leg protection is available, as well as a backpack version. Versatile JCB Groundhog


JCB, which will be exhibiting at Saltex, says that improvements to its Groundhog 4x4 utility vehicle offer customers greater versatility and flexibility. It can now be fitted with a ROPS cab, as well as the option of electronic power steering for undertaking tight turns at low speeds more easily. This automotive type system is a bespoke off-road unit developed specifically for the Groundhog. More soundproofing has been added to the vehicle, together with steel protectors for the front rubber steering boots, and rear fenders. The trailing arm independent rear suspension is designed for ruggedness and is combined with variable load-progressive springs.


A full under-belly tray guard shields the transmission from damage. The rear cargo deck is made from chequer-plate steel and the hinged drop sides can be removed for carrying outsize loads. Payload capacity is 500kg and the vehicle can tow a similar weight at the same time.
