Nottingham Celebrations will include a powerful military showcase for
all our Armed Forces, reserve forces and cadets, with both static and aerial displays across the magnificent surroundings of Grade I listed Wollaton Hall and Deer Park. There will be a WWII Living History camp with dressing up and a children’s assault course. Spectators can also look forward to a veterans’ marquee and displays from the police and fire brigade.
Bangor, Northern Ireland This Northern Irish town offers
an opportunity to see the excellent work of the Sea Cadet Corps as they celebrate Cadet150 in the McKee Clock Arena. Along the Eisenhower Pier, HMS Bangor will be open to visitors and you can try out your skills in the Merlin Helicopter simulator. One of the highlights of the weekend
will be performances by the Royal Marine Band who will be Beating the Retreat, leading the Armed Forces parade and taking part in the interdenominational church service on Sunday. In addition, there are lots of free activities for all the family including model boats, a food tent, music and talks.

Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland Armed Forces Day here will be a
family fun day with street entertainment and family-friendly activities. In the evening, the Scots (TA) Lowland Band will strike up and provide music for a concert in aid of Help for Heroes. Carrickfergus will be hosting a week-
long school’s programme to bring the history of the Armed Forces alive for the younger generations. The War Years Interactive Exhibition will feature a unique military and home front display illustrating living history and covering one hundred years of service at the Carrickfergus Museum & Civic Centre.

Two Royal Navy Type 23 Frigates, HMS Iron Duke and HMS Cumberland, will conduct a ceremonial steam-past firing a gun salute to the Lord Lieutenant. The day will close with a ceremonial ‘Beat Retreat’ and ‘Sunset’.

Scarborough The Scarborough Borough Council is hosting a homecoming parade
Plymouth After a week of events, Plymouth will continue to celebrate all

There will also be a Spitfire display, a tug of war competition and HMS Explorer will berth at the wharf. Other events planned for the week include an Armed Forces Day fundraising concert on Wednesday, June 23, with the Scarborough Concert Orchestra.
Edinburgh Armed Forces Day begins with a parade from
Edinburgh Castle through the city. The Ross Theatre in Princes Street Gardens will host Tea in the Marquees – a chance for members of the Armed Forces, veterans and the general public to mingle. Various activities will be taking place along in Princes Street Gardens, including an inflatable assault course, a paint-ball range and climbing tower. Entertainment will be provided by the Royal Regiment of Scotland Band. •
