City names GoGreen Award recipients
CCC members were among the winners of this year’s GoGreen Awards, presented by the City of Cambridge to recognize businesses and organizations that take exceptional environmental actions. In the large business or organization category MIT was acknowledged for transportation and storm water management and Novartis for energy. In the small business or organization category the Dance Complex won for waste reduction. Special awards for climate action went to Watermark Cambridge and Irving House at Harvard.

Inomata named top trademark attorney
Burns and Levinson’s Renee Inomata has been ranked #3 in the Top 50 Trademark Attorneys (Quarter 3) and #33 in the 2009 Year End Top 50 Trademark Attorneys by Trademark Insider. The Firm was listed as #11 in the Top 100 Trademark Law Firms (Quarter 3).

Reflection Films wins award for video
Reflection Films and its client, The Austen Riggs Center, in Stockbridge, MA, were recently honored with a gold Aster Award for the promotional video that Reflection Films produced. The Aster Awards recognize excellence in healthcare marketing and advertising. This program allows healthcare organizations and creative agencies to compete against similarly sized competitors from across the nation and world.

Rialto raises funds for Haitian relief
Rialto’s Chef Jody Adams was recently on Bravo’s Top Chef Masters and she raised $17,500 for Partners In Health. The people of Haiti still suffer the effects of the devastating earthquake that occurred in January so on June 6 Rialto is hosting “CHEFS STAND WITH HAITI” in support of Partners In Health. Sixteen of Boston’s most acclaimed chefs are joining in to lend their sup- port. Visit https://donate.pih.org/page/contribute/ rialto-chefs for details.

CSB foundation presents scholarships
The Cambridge Savings Charitable Foundation pre- sented $65,000 in scholarships to students of the class of 2010. The scholarships, named for Kevin J. Fitzgerald, former chairman of the board, are awarded to graduating high school seniors from public high schools in Acton-Boxborough, Arlington, Bedford, Belmont, Burlington, Cambridge, Concord-Carlisle, Lexington, Newton, Somerville and Watertown, who are attending two or four year colleges.

MIT Museum features Polaroid collection
The MIT Museum opens a special display on June 11 featuring artifacts from their recently acquired Polaroid collection. Classic cameras, design prototypes and the notes of Edwin Land are just part of the innovative company’s archive spanning seven decades. Later in July and August programs and demonstrations will take place for students of all ages. The MIT Museum is open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit http://mit.edu/museum.

Rotary Club honors tomorrow’s leaders

National Honor Society students of Cambridge Rindge and Latin (CRLS) were honored by the Rotary Club of Cambridge at its Annual “Leaders Today & Tomorrow,” event. Ten community business and nonprofit leaders generously gave of their time and experience to honor the students and facilitate a discussion on leadership characteristics. The Rotary Club also awarded scholarships of $1,000 each to four students and in recognition of the importance Rotary places on service to the community, four matching $500 grants were awarded to Cambridge nonprofit organizations selected by each scholarship winner.

Sample a Taste of Cambridge on June 24
The 8th Annual Taste of Cambridge, presented by the Cambridge Licensee Advisory Board, will be held on Thursday, June 24. Local Cambridge organizations City Sprouts and the Cambridge YWCA have been named as event beneficiaries. 2,000 hungry people with taste buds demanding gustatory excellence will gather to be doted upon by 70 local Cambridge restaurateurs, food purveyors, brewers, and vintners. Tickets can be purchased for $50 in advance at www.tasteofcambridge.com or $60 at the door. VIP tickets are $75.

31st Cambridge River Festival is June 5
The 31st Annual Cambridge River Festival creates a splash on Saturday, June 5 from noon to 6 p.m. (rain or shine) with a FREE, one-day celebration of the arts on a mile-long stretch along the banks of the Charles River. Attracting over 200,000 enthusiastic festival-goers annually, the Cambridge River Festival offers an opportunity to experience arts, cultural and community organizations active year-round in Cambridge and get inspired to delve more deeply into the local arts scene.
