THE BYLAWS OF THE INTERNATIONAL GENERAL COUNCIL AND THE INTERNATIONAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY

NOTICE OF PROPOSALS TO AMEND

IN ACCORDANCE with the Minutes of the International General Assembly, the following amendments related to the Bylaws of the Church of God are being recommended by the International Executive Council to the 2010 International General Council for consideration.

1) Purpose of the General Assembly

We recommend:

That we amend the Bylaws of the Church of God, Article VI, Governing Bodies, 1. International General Assembly, by adding the following under the heading, “Purpose”:

“The purpose of the International General Assembly is to advance the mission, vision and commitments of the Church of God as

stated in the International General Assembly Minutes.”

2) Quadrennial Assembly

We recommend:

i. That we amend page 54, Bylaws, Article VI, Governing Bodies, 1. International General Assembly, Meet- ing, by striking the word, “biennially” and inserting the word, “quadrennially.” (Effective 2012)

ii. That we amend page 56, Bylaws, Article VI, Governing Bodies, 2. International General Council, Agenda, paragraph 1, by striking the word, “biennially,” and inserting the word, “quadrennially.” (Effec- tive 2012)

iii. That we amend page 62, S2. International Executive Council, I. Selection, Item 4, by striking the word, “biennially,” and inserting the word, “quadrennially.” (Effective 2012)

iv. That all references in the Minutes to “biennial” or “biennially” be amended to reflect “quadrennial” or “quadrennially” as appropriate.

v. That the tenured offices in the Minutes be changed to reflect these motions and the International Executive Council be authorized to resolve any conflicts or questions regarding terms of office in the Min- utes in implementing the above motions reflecting a quadrennial International General Assembly.

3) Elected Offices

We recommend:

i. That we amend page 55, Bylaws, Article 6, Governing Bodies, I. International General Assembly, Elec- tions by striking the words, “General Youth and Christian Education Director,” and inserting the words,

“Director of Youth and Discipleship.”

ii. That we amend page 55, Bylaws, Article 6, Governing Bodies, 1. International General Assembly, Elec- tions, by striking the words, “Assistant General Youth and Christian Education Director,” and inserting the

words, “Assistant Director of Youth and Discipleship.”

iii. That we amend page 55, Bylaws, Article 6, Governing Bodies, 1. International General Assembly, Elec- tions, by striking the words, “Evangelism and Home Missions Director.” (Effective 2012)

iv. That we amend page 55, Bylaws, Article 6, Governing Bodies, 1. International General Assembly, Elec- tions, by striking the words, “Assistant Evangelism and Home Missions Director.” (Effective 2012)

v. That other references to these positions in the Minutes be amended to reflect these motions.
