Blackpool Town Centre
During 2009 Blackpool hosted for the first time, the Nocturne cycling series, the Blackpool event was the third and final leg of the series after stages in London and Edinburgh.
Over 4,000 spectators lined the circuit which ran along the Promenade, Adelaide Street West and Bank Hey Street. An illuminated promenade and Blackpool Tower provided a truly spectacular backdrop for the best of British Cycling. A total of over 150 competitors took part in the hugely successful programme of racing which featured an elite criterium race, hoteliers challenge, folding bike race and support race.
An even bigger and better event is being planned for 2010.
