CARPET TILES
CARPET &
BETTER BY DESIGN
Design is important, we all want to invest in timeless style, but we do have to consider what goes on behind closed doors when it comes to production.
One of the UK’s leading innovators in carpet tile design, Burmatex manufactures an extensive product range of contract carpets and carpet tiles designed for a breadth of environments. Its stylish product portfolio includes structure and fibre bonded and tufted carpet in sheet and tile, specialist barrier and entrance matting products and luxury vinyl tiles
Burmatex’s open and direct approach to environmental issues proved a huge success when the carpet tile innovator debuted at the ecobuild exhibition recently. The company received encouraging feedback on its new ‘no-nonsense’ environmental policy and BRE A+ rated design- led products at the sustainability show in March.
Burmatex took the decision to clarify and simplify the communication of its policy after becoming disillusioned with what seemed to be a minefield of ‘green wash,’ with a new piece of literature designed to give readers the bare facts in a frank and succinct way. This was well-received by visitors to the Burmatex stand as a refreshing way of addressing issues that can sometimes be confused and overcomplicated.
“When we asked the Building Research Establishment (BRE) to conduct an environmental evaluation of our products and processes as part of their environmental assessment method for
buildings (BREEAM), the result was a vindication of the way we’ve always done things at Burmatex, with most of our products achieving A+’s for their use in education and healthcare applications.
“Basically, since the company began, environmental best practice has been intrinsic to our business and continues to be so. The simplicity of the new environmental policy reflects our genuine, straightforward way of working,” commented Burmatex Manufacturing Manager, David Simpson.
The environmental policy can also be downloaded in PDF format from the website and is also available by request as a hard copy brochure, printed on 100% post consumer waste recycled paper, of course!
