Dues Payment
A special thanks to those members who have responded with an immediate payment of their 2010 dues investment. As a member-involved, not-for- profit organization, the CCC relies on its members to pay their dues in a timely fashion. We appreciate this show of support by our membership. It is through the fiscal cooperation of our membership that we are able to provide an aggressive program designed to meet the needs and interests of our business community. We understand that in times of economic hard- ship, you may want options on how you pay your dues. Help beautify the new Cambridge Public Library 5/14
Gather your company colleagues, grab your gardening gear and mark your calendar to join the CCC for our annual spring community service project on Friday, May 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The NEW main Cambridge Library is truly an architectural and civic gift at the heart of the Cambridge community. Re-opened in 2009 to design accolades, thrilled students and ecstatic residents, this jewel is missing only one thing—landscape beautification. The CCC is proud to be the organization that will bring the community together to plant flowers and beautify the outside of the new main library and celebrate Go Green Month at the same time. This is a chance for you and your colleagues to come together as a team, or individually, to make an impact on what is one of the most visited sites in Cambridge and have a fun and meaningful group experience. Not to mention the instant gratification factor as you are able to immediately enjoy the fruits of your labor and share them with the community.

As recently quoted in a Boston Globe article about the new library, “This interstitial space contains shades and blinds, both of which move automatically with the sun to control heat and glare. The glass is perfectly clear, so that when you’re inside looking out, you feel you’re also in the park, and when you’re outside looking in, you can see all the way through the building. The goal was to create a library that would feel open and welcoming to everyone in the diverse community that is today’s Cambridge.”

The flowers we plant will help bring that outside beauty into the library and the park that is shared by the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. Make sure that you or your company team is part of this important project!
