Q1) How long have you worked in retail?

I have been working in photographic retail for the last 3 years, and working for Park Cameras for the last year.

Q2) How has business changed over the last six months?

Continued competitive activity from other sales channels makes securing a sale as hard as it has ever been. However, with exclusives and ‘product leads’ within the independent channel, manufacturers are trying to help where they can.

Q3) Ever served anyone famous? (if so, who?)

Sadly no, however David Bailey joined us for the opening of our new showroom and I work very closely with both Jon Gray

and John Clements as they teach workshops with our School of Photography.

Q4) What’s your favourite thing about Pixel?

I enjoy reading the Q&A over my lunch, it’s nice to read about other retailers experiences and opinions of the trade.

Q5) What is your preferred product to sell and why?

The Canon EOS 7D, it’s a camera I am very keen on and interested customers are always keen photographers who you can upsell to.

Q6) How do you promote your business?

We advertise widely in photographic magazines, SEO, PPC and recently ventured in to national papers (The Guardian and Observer), we’re even on facebook and twitter. Word of Mouth through our level of service is also invaluable!

A revamp on the Canon section with new touch and try displays

Watching the customers failing to park in the snow was a good chuckle.
