WHY NURSING/MIDWIFERY?
Nursing and midwifery are more than great professional careers with good pay and prospects. The roles have changed dramatically over the last decade and nurses and midwives are now at the heart of major changes and developments in the NHS. A nursing or midwifery qualification is highly valued and the expertise you gain will always be needed. And, while they are demanding careers, you’ll have the potential to work in a wide range of areas and organisations.
What’s more, there are no fees to pay – so you can get paid while you study (although some exceptions apply, please see the Funding For Your Studies section). Most importantly, you’ll gain real job satisfaction from working as part of a team and caring for people.
To give you more help in making your decision, we hold open days throughout the year at our flagship Hendon campus. You can find out more about these events by calling 020 8411 5555 or visiting our website
www.mdx.ac.uk/nursing
At these events you can speak informally to our knowledgeable staff and nursing and midwifery academics for help and guidance. It’s your chance to talk to us about nursing and midwifery, tell us about your experience and ask any questions. We can help with honest advice, and together we can work out the best route for you.
Candidates who are advanced in their decision-making may even be interviewed on the day, so it’s important that you bring your original qualification certificates and photo ID including documentary evidence of your residency status.
Our courses usually start in September each year but some top-up courses also start in January. Applications are usually made through UCAS. If you are unsure you can contact us on 020 8411 5555.
