help meet acoustic
standards in schools

W
ith almost 50 years of experience in the education sector, Rockfon has established
itself as one of the leading manufacturers of acoustic ceiling solutions and has now
launched three new acoustic solutions to enhance its offering. These are Rockfon Contour
baffles, Rockfon Eclipse ceiling islands and the impact resistant Rockfon Boxer ceiling system.
Rockfon Contour is an economic baffle offering new opportunities for correcting
acoustics in areas where frequent and unhindered access to service installations is required.
It is also ideal for acoustic correction in premises using thermal mass, by enabling the air to
flow freely around the room.
Rockfon Eclipse is an innovative ceiling island offering acoustic solutions with a new
aesthetic dimension. It can be used where traditional suspended ceilings are unsuitable,
such as glass roofs, historic buildings and thermal mass buildings. Trendy and stylish, Eclipse
is available in square and rectangular formats offering a solution for any room configuration.
Building materials used in schools need to withstand wear and tear and rough treatment.
Impact resistance of suspended ceilings is tested in accordance with EN 13964 Annex D,
which defines three impact resistance classes. Class 1A is required for heavy duty sports
halls where heavy impact ball sports are played. Rockfon has developed a new Boxer ceiling
tile and grid system that reaches this arduous 1A classification. It is easily demountable,
lightweight and dimensionally stable, even in humidity of up to 100% RH. The large format
of the Boxer tile (1166x1166mm) makes it ideal for big sports halls.
All of these exciting innovations will be on display on Rockfon’s stand No.1270 at BSEC.
