According to our rule expert, there is no rule that defines
the acceptable “variation in distance” of a drifting mark before
redress is granted. It is a judgement call by the race committee.
As far as the mark being reset, the committee acted as quickly as
it could with what it had, resetting the mark after 25 minutes.
