A Case Study
In 2004 one company who invested in the equipment supplied by
Vision were B & P Screenprint based in Cheshire, a company who
were formerly operating a conventional solvent based screen cleaning
machine which required updating. Vision were contacted to supply an
alternative to the system and recommended the use of a Chim 92 four
module M4 screen cleaning machine.
Paul Waterton, Managing Director of Vision Supplies takes up the story,
”Screen cleaning is a difficult process for many companies to invest
in, it is often seen as an area which can’t be ‘fixed’. Many companies
spend a considerable amount of time, effort and money either
cleaning frames manually or tolerating poorly performing oil based
solvent screen cleaning machinery. There really is no need to
compromise the production on the print floor by adopting this
approach, B & P are one example of many who have completely
transformed their screen cleaning department by using our machinery
and range of chemicals.”
Time To Consider Change
With many benefits accessible using Chim 92’s chemical products and
machinery Paul Waterton believes that it’s time for companies to
consider overhauling their screen cleaning departments, he concludes.
“We supply a wide range of chemicals which can be used manually as
well as products for our machines. Whether applied manually or
automatically there are many common benefits, our products
significantly reduce the amount of time taken to clean screens, are
easy to use, low odour and do not contain VOC, but the real benefits

of supply we have been delighted with the performance of the Chim
92 equipment and support by Vision. The equipment has delivered in
every area promised, our screen cleaning is much more efficient, less
costly and our environmental impact transformed by the use of the
machine, I would strongly recommend the system to any medium to
large screen printing facility. There are many benefits which we
hadn’t really considered when purchasing the equipment, one of
which was the massive reduction in screen stretching costs. The
equipment has reduced the number of frames we restretch by virtue
of its non-aggressive nature, we no longer need to anti-stain using
conventional products which reduces the abrasion to the mesh surface
and significantly extends the mesh life. In addition the waste water
discharge from the equipment has extremely low COD content,

typically below 3,000 mg/ltr which we regularly test.”
