The Sun SPARC Enterprise MX000 Server Administration course is presented as instructor- led training in a classroom. This course provides students with the skill set necessary to identify the features and architecture specifics of the Sun SPARC Enterprise M4000/M5000/M8000/M9000/ M9000 with Expansion Cabinet servers. These skills include performing configuration and platform administration methodologies supported by Sun on these Sun servers and being familiar with and using troubleshooting tools and techniques available within the Solaris Operating System (OS) relevant to this server line. The hands-on labs offered in this course might involve accessing equipment that resides at a location other than where the training is delivered. Students will not have physical access to this equipment.

Sun Fire Midrange Server Administration

Classroom Length: 5 Days

The Sun Fire Midrange Server Administration course provides students with the information needed to configure, monitor, and manage the Sun Fire V1280/E2900, 3800, 4800/E4900, 4810, and 6800/E6900 midrange servers. Additionally, students implement concurrent maintenance and high-availability strategies, and use firmware tools and applications to assess a system. NOTE: Hardware is stored in a controlled lab environment. Students might not have physical access to this equipment.

Sun Fire High-End Server Administration Course Bundle

Multiple Product Package

This 5-day course package is a combination of the instructor-led Sun Fire High-End Server Administration (ES-4210) and its web-based Sun Fire High-End Server Administration Assessment (WGS-PREX-4210). The Web-based assessment is a post-requisite to the instructor-led class and allows a student to assess their knowledge and skills. The Sun Fire High-End Server Administration course provides students with the skill set necessary to identify the features and architecture specifics of the Sun Fire 15K/12K and Sun Fire 25K/20K servers. These skills include performing configuration and platform administration methodologies supported by Sun on the Sun Fire HES; be familiar with and use troubleshooting tools and techniques available within the Solaris Operating System (Solaris OS) relevant to the Sun Fire high-end servers. The hands-on labs offered in this course may involve accessing equipment that resides at a location other than where the training is delivered. Sun Desktop Systems Maintenance

Classroom

The Sun Desktop Systems Maintenance course provides students with information about how to install, configure, diagnose, and verify proper operation of desktop workstations based on SPARC technology. Sun desktop systems covered in this course include Sun Blade 1000, Sun Blade 100, Ultra 80, Ultra 60, Ultra 30, Ultra 10, Ultra 5, and Ultra 2 workstations. Students can also learn how to install and configure associated desktop peripherals, including external disk and tape devices. Real problems are introduced into the desktop systems for you to troubleshoot using all available diagnostic tools.

Sun Enterprise Server Maintenance

The Sun Enterprise Server Maintenance course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the Sun Enterprise 3500, Sun Enterprise 4500, Sun Enterprise 5500, and Sun Enterprise 6500 servers. Students study the architecture and hardware components of these servers; practice locating, removing, and replacing all field- replaceable units (FRUs); and use a variety of diagnostic tools to troubleshoot failed system components.

Sun Blade 1000 and 2000 Workstation and Sun Fire 280R Server Maintenance and Administration

The Sun Blade 1000 and 2000 Workstation and Sun Fire 280R Server Maintenance and Administration course instructs students in understanding the architectural layout of the Sun Blade 1000 workstation, the Sun Blade 2000 workstation, and the Sun Fire 280R server; in replacing parts on these products; and in administering these products using firmware and software commands and utilities.

The Sun Fire Workgroup Server Maintenance and Administration course covers installation, configuration, and maintenance issues on workgroup and mid-range servers within the Sun Blade and Sun Fire architectural line. The course covers the Sun Blade 1000, Sun Blade 2000, Sun Fire 280R, Sun Fire V480, and Sun Fire V880 servers. The course is designed to provide students with the common concepts, architectures, key features, and configuration techniques for the Sun Blade and Sun Fire work group server line. It also provides students with server-specific information on hardware installation and replacement procedures, software configuration procedures, and troubleshooting techniques using software products, firmware diagnostic tools, and hardware utilities.

Sun Fire Workgroup/Enterprise Server Maintenance

Classroom Length: 5 Days

The Sun Fire Midrange Server Maintenance course provides students with the information needed to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the Sun Fire V1280/E2900, 3800, 4800/E4900, 4810, and 6800/E6900 midrange servers. Additionally, students remove and replace system components, and troubleshoot common hardware and firmware issues.
