The company has recently taken on seven new staff as a result of the takeover.

However, the poor performance of the pound has impacted the company. Dr Gilhooly added: ‘The economic downturn has not had a big effect on our business but we’ve seen reduced profit margins as a result of more expensive imports from the EU and USA.’

The next three months will see GHS organise an international medical conference at Glasgow University on the drug LDN - Low Dose Naltrexone which is used to boost the immune system - something GHS is internationally renowned for.

MAMTA SINGHAL - LEVEL 16 Unfortunately Level 16 has currently been put on hold but Mamta Singhal hasn’t given up her dreams of running her own company.

Having recently completed an MBA at Strathclyde University, Mamta, who was personally congratulated by HRH Princess Anne for her contribution to engineering, says her product design company just hasn’t had any of her time.

She said: ‘I always knew that this might just be a sideline business for me at the moment, but I’m still looking for support on my main

‘I was the finalist for three major awards - two national and one international - so I’ve been focusing on that as well as completing my MBA. When the economy is like this and business is slow, my efforts were best put towards awards and my degree while I can.’

Having invested £60,000 in her degree, Mamta hopes for a lucky break in the form of a new TV show.

She said: ‘A major UK TV production company has screen-tested me, as they are looking for an engineer to be a presenter for up-and-coming programme so watch this space!’
