Kiran has worked predominately in Financial Services with expertise in customer
relationship marketing and customer communications. At a time when a (nameless)
Financial Services Company informed her that “customers were lucky to be with them”, she
set up the first Customer Marketing Department and introduced the concept of CRM.
After becoming a consultant, she worked as project manager for companies including
Liverpool Victoria, Barclays, London Life and Cazanove. She has devised, commissioned
and managed projects in customer research, database analysis, product development and
marketing programmes.
Kiran has taught various modules at all levels since 1999 and she is also a CIM
examiner.
HEAtHER YAxLEY MciPR, couRsE DiREctoR foR PubLic RELAtions
Heather has over 15 years’ experience working in-house for major brands and within
consultancy environments. She has a strong reputation for developing innovative marketing
and PR campaigns within a strategic framework. She has experience developing consumer,
B2B and corporate initiatives in the public, private and charity sectors across the education,
automotive, FMCG and arts worlds.
With an extensive academic knowledge and her own business, Applause Consultancy,
Heather is one of the most qualified trainers in her field. Under the concept of
Greenbanana, Heather has created a top global PR blog and educational resource. She is
currently studying for an MA in higher education at Portsmouth University.
stEvE bAx DMs MciM AMRs cHARtERED MARkEtER,
ciM tAugHt couRsE DiREctoR
Steve has over 27 years’ experience at senior and board levels in small, medium and
large organisations from a wide range of sectors in both B2B and B2C markets. He has
been a Principal Lecturer for the College since 1993 – he currently delivers the Marketing
Research and Information and Marketing Management modules. He has previously taught
the Sales Promotion and Direct Marketing module for the CAM programme and delivered
short courses in the exhibitions and events management arena.
Steve has worked as a senior manager for a leading home improvement company, a
marketing manager in the food processing and retail marketplaces and as Chairman and
Chief Executive for the food industry. He now runs his own strategic marketing consultancy
called Bax Interaction Limited (BIL) with clients in professional services, the food industry,
exhibitions and events, sports and leisure, corporate services, manufacturing, the not for
profit sector, publishing and technology.
tERRY nickLin bsc DiPM MciM MbA cHARtERED MARkEtER, couRsE
DiREctoR foR cAM AnD DigitAL MARkEting
Terry teaches Marketing Communications and the E-Award course for the College, and also
delivers one of the modules on the Marketing for Technology Companies programme.
He has clocked up over twenty five years’ experience in marketing and sales.
He has worked at Marketing Director and Head of Marketing level in engineering,
technology and professional services companies including Domino Printing Sciences,
QP Group and Cambridge Display Technology. In the public sector, he has worked as
Technology Translator for the Sensors and Instrumentation Knowledge Transfer Network.
He has broad international marketing and sales experience, and has been a popular
speaker at international conferences. Terry now runs Keynote PR, specialising in PR and
communications for a variety of clients. He holds the CIM Diploma and has an MBA from
Warwick University. Terry is Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Cambridge
Branch.
