CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
ALUMNI Association
As practising marketing and PR professionals ourselves we know that learning does not stop
once you have your Diploma. You need to keep your knowledge and skills up to date and keep
up with the latest ideas and developments in the profession including the challenges and
opportunities of new technology. It is also important to network and make and keep contacts
within the profession – to share ideas and learn from others’ successes.
After 18 years’ of teaching we are unique in being able to offer our graduates membership of an Alumni
Association providing access to a number of benefits:
coLLEgE PubLicAtions over the years we have published a range of newsletters, Think Pieces and Alumni
Briefing Papers. These have included CIM Shape the Agenda research reprinted for alumni and briefing
papers on Mobile Marketing, Non-Intrusive Marketing and Word of Mouth Marketing.
tHE AnnuAL cAMbRiDgE MARkEting LEctuRE has become a highlight of the marketing calendar. Each
year the College hosts a dinner and debate in Cambridge for delegates and alumni and invites a leading
academic or entrepreneur to speak on future issues for marketers. The aim is to stimulate debate on key
issues and contribute to new marketing ideas. Delegates and alumni have the opportunity to meet and
network with other delegates, College tutors, senior representatives from the CIM and CIPR, senior business
people and eminent marketers. Our alumni receive an automatic invitation to this major event and access to
past lectures given by such eminent marketers as Professors Philip Kotler and Malcolm McDonald.
ALuMni WEbsitE we have a dedicated section of our website for alumni providing access to publications,
latest news from the College and access to an alumni discussion forum enabling alumni to network with other
past delegates, exchange views and keep up to date with marketing issues.
consuLtAncY cLinics free hotline advice from College tutors over the phone or one hour face to face
advice on marketing problems.
cAREERs guiDAncE free initial careers guidance from our Careers Partners. The College also receives
notification from corporate clients of job vacancies and can assist in a placement service for alumni seeking
new positions.
coAcHing is available to delegates through our fully-qualified and certified in-house coach and professional
marketer for any issues relating to business, career or personal life. This is a confidential service in person or

MAstER cLAssEs we run master classes for alumni as well as a series of one and two day specialist
marketing courses in EMarketing and Marketing for High Technology Companies, and a range of one day
short courses including our highly popular Introduction to Marketing for which alumni receive a discount for
colleagues.
giving bAck PRogRAMME this is a voluntary programme where delegates with spare time can be
introduced to charitable organisations in need of their marketing expertise. This is a great opportunity for
delegates to apply their knowledge in diverse organizations and extend their experience. The charity receives
key business support for which they could not pay.
This service is gratis for the first year and at the College’s discretion thereafter.
