O
utstanding senior artists will be recognized for their best works in the 17th annual
“Art after Seventy-Five” exhibit of the Putnam Arts Council. The juried exhibit
opens on Sunday, August 2 at the Council’s headquarters on Tilly Foster Farm, Route
312 in Brewster. There is a public reception on Sunday afternoon, August 23.
Putnam Arts Council Director Joyce Picone says that this popular exhibit offers
a first gallery setting opportunity to many arts practitioners, while exhibiting newer
work from master artists throughout the region. Artist and arts educator Anthony
Haruch of Somers is juror of the exhibit. An adjunct professor at SUNY, New Paltz,
he works in silver and silk screening. Haruch has turned his world travels into two
books for children, and developed education plans for school art departments in
Putnam and surrounding counties.
Gallery hours for the free exhibit will be Tuesday to Friday, 10-3pm, and Sundays,
1-4pm. Artists will be able to offer their work for sale. Details and information
about exhibiting artwork are available at
