an otter cub so adept at swimming
under water. She absolutely loved it
and was happy almost straight away
in deep water.
Sadly we have not heard of
another cub her size so Hope is now
out in the large enclosure on her own.
I have kept up the contact with her so
that she has some company. Maybe
we will have another otter cub that in
time we will be able to put with her
until it’s time for her to go back to the
wild, which won’t be until next
summer. We’ll have to wait and see.
At the moment she is making the
most of her large pool and looking in
really good condition.
Enjoying Wildlife
Despite the many animals that we
look after, we are always pleased
to see things in the wild. The
sight of the swallows returning,
the odd hedgehog walking
through the backhouse (obviously
a short cut!) and it was great
when Matilda, the white duck,
hatched out her brood on our
dipping pond. The visitors loved
watching them too.
