Mamapalooza Goes Green
O
n May 16, Mamapalooza—the rockin’
national organization comprised of
thousands of multi-talented women—gives
special focus to alternative and eco-friendly
products and practices. Mamapalooza’s
ECO slogan, “We may look pink, but we’re
really green,” will color this year’s festival at
Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla. This large-
scale event in nine U.S. locations features
the “Sustainable Women Series” and touts
innovative products, educational programs,
and community services.
Executive Producer Joy Rose says
Mamapalooza began in 2002 with about ten
participants. This year, thousands of people
are expected to attend. Series highlights in-
clude a pre-event Yoga-thon at 11 a.m. (bring
a yoga mat.). Later, “Green” host Victoria
Everman will offer the latest green advice,

health, beauty, home and baby, along with jewelry, and apparel. For kids and teens,
local mom Carina Piaggio will lead a noon workshop on making musical instruments
from recycled products. At 1 p.m., her family band, Bash the Trash, performs for the
crowd. Mamapalooza also features a Farmer’s Market with a tasty selection of organic
foods and beverages for sampling!
