A DELICIOUS RECIPE TO ENJOY WITH YOUR AFTERNOON TEA
GINGER AND ANISE SHORTBREAD STARS
− 170g/6oz plain flour − ½ teaspoon ground star anise
− 55g/2oz caster sugar − 4 pieces stem ginger in syrup
− 110g/4oz cold butter − A little extra sugar for dusting
− ½ teaspoon ground ginger
1. Place all the ingredients in the bowl of a food processor and process using
short bursts of power until you have a smoothish dough.
2. Chill (the dough) for about 30 minutes.
3. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured board and cut star shapes.
4. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and sprinkle lightly with caster sugar.
5. Bake the stars in a pre-heated oven180°C/360°F/gas mark 4 for 8-12 minutes
until they are light golden brown at the edges.
6. Brew your favourite tea, award self freshly baked biscuits, sit back and enjoy.
