In general, the penetration of non-smartphone users is close to smartphone users when
looking at the ‘overall access chart’. This shows that SMS access of information and services
is not a ‘platform dependent’ feature but quite accessible to all mobile users. However
the data does reveal that smartphone users may have marginally more of a tendency to
make use of such services in comparison. The US and France are the exceptions to this as
it seems that there is a much higher propensity for smartphone users to use SMS access
than non-smartphone users in these countries.
