FRESHMAN YEAR
By Elliot Williams
It’s happening real fast, this whole year has gone by fast.
The past six games, moving into the starting lineup, it was a
fast transition. But I’m glad the coaches have confidence in
me and I have to still be hungry. Never get satisfied, just keep
on winning, making winning plays. That’s what I have to do.
Coming out of high school, you have a lot of hype around you.
You come well-known into a situation where you have a lot to
learn. Some of the stuff you could do in high school you can’t do
in college. I have to apply my athletic ability to new things
offensively and defensively. As a freshman,
you have to be hungry to learn and remain
confident that you will get there, that you
can do this.
You have to have confidence out there or
you’re not going to play well. I am very
confident in the things I know I can do. I
know I can bring a lot of energy, I know I
can play hard, I know I can use my
athleticism on both ends. You have to be
confident no matter what happens. My
parents are real strong, real strong people,
and I think I get my confidence from them.
